It’s not considered polite to post a “website under construction” warning, or to use the hackneyed little animation of the little guy with the shovel. That’s so 90’s, they say. Instead, you’re supposed to call your online work in progress a Beta version. What do you do when you want to revise a website that’s already online? Well, you spin up a safe place to delete everything and start over!
This poor website has been around for more than ten years now and in that time it has taken quite a beating, because I use it as a sandbox whenever I learn some new tricks. This year will be no exception, although last year was pretty quiet around here.
For most of 2015, I told myself I wouldn’t really touch the setup of this website. It was enough to have a responsive layout. Besides, I had other things to do. Since then, I’ve learned a few things about typography, and about web development (Git, LESS, and SASS to name a few), and I need a place to put those things into practice.
